These photos were taken at the St. Patrick's Church which is a historic church in Michigan. I really liked the size and historic features of the building. It was a really tall building and I really wanted to capture that, so I tried different angles to capture it. In the fist two photos in took them from a lower viewpoint looking up and I think I really helps you get an idea of how big it was. In my blueprint I tried to capture the historic features like the doors with an arched window.
These photos were taken of an old wedding barn. I really liked the Cottonwood lettering on the barn and how big it was. In the first photo I took I got a front view of the whole barn and you can see the size and shape. In the second photo I wanted to focus more on the writing because I think it makes the barn so much more pretty and eye catching than a regular red barn. In the last photo I tried to capture it from a side and where you can see more of a 3D look of the barn.
This is a blacksmith shop. I really liked the colors of the shop and how it has a really simple look to it. The first photo is a view of the front and the second photo is a view of the front and side so you can see more of the shape. In the third photo I I liked how the lines and stacked window fit perfectly together, it allows your eyes to smoothly look at the image leading you from the bottom to the top.
These photos were taken at an original town hall, called the Webster Town Hall, built in 1871. I really liked the historical aspect of the building and how it shows the old features of the town hall as well as the new features. The first photo is a view of the front and the second photo is a more up close photo of the front. In the second photo I tried to capture the triangular peak of the door and the roof to add layers to the photo and direct your eyes up the photo. In the third photo I liked how siding of the building goes horizontally allowing the focus to be more on the window and the openness of the window.
These were taken at Podunk School from 1850. I really liked this building because although it looks simple I has a lot of history. I thought this building was really cool because schools now are very different and I wanted to show that. The first photo was taken from the front and gives an idea of how simple buildings used to be, it doesn't have fancy designs or even the name of the school on top. (The name is on a sign on the side of the building, you can see in the blueprint.) The second photo shows the side and has lines that lead your eyes from the left to the right. The third image shows the school from a side angle, you can see the simple shape of the school and my favorite part, the school bell on top of the roof. I think it is cool capturing images of historic places like these because you can see the difference between buildings from a long time ago and now.
